Salary: Fixed at $49,920 based on $24.00 per hour

Job Description:
The City of Mount Vernon Police Department is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) applicant to fill the
position of Domestic Violence Liaison, in our team-oriented agency. The successful candidate must be
willing to work with adults and children who have experienced or been exposed to domestic or sexual
assault. This candidate should be willing to work in the city, build new connections and collaborations,
and intentionally focus on the needs of survivors. A positive and professional attitude, ability to establish
boundaries, and a strong work ethic are a must for the successful candidate. The successful candidate
should possess experience working in the field of domestic violence. This is a grant-funded position and
benefits are included.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. The candidate should have experience in DV/SA, intimate partner violence and stalking as well
as related education relevant to this position.
2. Possession of a background of crisis intervention.
3. Ability to handle tolerate high stress and confrontational situations.
4. Ability to think critically and apply risk management with a focus on problem solving and solution
focused skills.
5. Ability to practice and adhere to the standards of trauma informed care for victims of crime.
6. Adhere to the policies, rules and regulations of the Mount Vernon Police Organization.
7. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the public.
8. Possess excellent written and oral skills.
9. Valid driver's license in the State of Ohio.
10. Cleared background check BCI and FBI, Pre-employment drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
1. In-depth understanding of office procedures and departmental and legal policies
2. Proficient in MS Office and other administrative computer systems.
3. An analytical mind with problem solving skills.
4. Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
5. Bachelor’s degree in related field (desirable but not required)
