2023 Bulldog Football Parking & Tailgating Guidelines
Please review the guidelines below to maximize your game day experience. The following is applicable to
Picnic Space Holders; General Parking & Tailgating; Sponsored Tent Areas and all season and suite holders.
Parking lots open 6 hours prior to kick-off and close 2 hours following the game.
o When approaching the entrance of your lot please have your mobile parking pass showing on your phone
to be scanned.
o ALL PARKING PERMITS are limited to one vehicle in one space. Parking pass holders are not permitted to
reserve spots for others, or use additional parking permits to occupy parking stalls with tailgate items.
o Tailgating items such as, but not limited to: tents, tables, chairs, grills, games, etc. MAY NOT block
driveways or occupy parking stalls
During the game it is permissible to tailgate in the Red, White, and Blue Lots
o Tailgating and picnicking are NOT PERMITTED in the Purple, Yellow, and Green lots during the game.
Vehicles parked in unauthorized areas, or those not following the directions of game management personnel,
are subject to tow, and actions could result in revocation of parking privileges and passes.
Blue, Red, White, Purple, Green, and Yellow auto passes are for passenger vehicles only.
o Limos, trailers, or RVs are NOT PERMITTED in the general parking areas.
o Parking permits for ALL LOTS are valid for one vehicle occupying one space.
Glass containers, charcoal grills, deep fryers, and open flame BBQs are NOT PERMITTED in the general parking
areas of the Red, White, Blue, Purple and Green lots.
o Tailgating or picnicking of any kind is prohibited on the football practice field (white lot ponding basin).
Auto pass holders in all lots may tailgate directly behind their vehicle only.
o Open parking spaces are NOT PERMITTED to be used for tailgating and there is no tailgating in
designated fire lanes.
o Aisleways within the parking lots must always remain clear and allow vehicles to pass through.
Picnic pass holders must park their vehicles within their designated picnic area. If vehicles do not fit in their
designated space they will be directed to the purple lot on campus (Lots 20,23,24).
o Vehicles with picnic passes are subject to towing if they are parked in the general auto area of the lot.
Pass holders are responsible for cleaning up all trash within their area upon departure.
All grass parking lots are subject to closure due to inclement weather. Please check for alternative parking
options on game day through social media as well as the internet, radio, TV, and newspaper.
Policy on Tents, Temporary Canopies, and Other Items
Tents or groupings of tents must be at least 12 feet apart from each other; less than 400 sqft or 700 sqft if open on all
sides. Anything larger will require a specific permit from the State Fire Marshal. [CFC 3103.2 or 3103.5]. Fresno State
Campus Buildings and Grounds policy prohibits unauthorized staking in any facilities on campus. Weights (waterfilled
barrels, sand bags, or concrete blocks) shall be utilized for the anchoring and securing of temporary structures such as
tents and canopies.
Policy on Tents, Temporary Canopies, and Other Items (cont.):
All local companies that rent/set up tents at Fresno State events have been informed of this policy. Tents, canopies,
popups, inflatables, and signs may also not be affixed to any tree. Violation of these requirements will be subject to a fee
penalty or revocation of parking privileges for future games. Tenting within any tailgate spaces on campus (Red Lot,
Blue Lot, White Lot, Purple Lot) should be coordinated through Expo Events & Tents, the primary Fresno State Football
tailgating vendor. Expo Events & Tents can be reached by phone at (559)495-3300 or online at exporentals.com.
All tents shall abide by Fresno State Campus Buildings and Ground Policy by utilizing concrete block weights or
stakes (only where approved by Fresno State Campus Buildings and Grounds) and installed only by licensed
vendors.
ALL tent companies (or individuals) setting up on campus are REQUIRED to provide proper engineering and
installation materials for tents, as well as to supply approved floor plans, exit routes, and capacities.
Tents must be at least 12 feet apart from each other.
ANY tent that is larger than 400 sq ft (20’x20) will require a permit per CFC 3103.2 or 3103.5.
10’x10’ Pop-Up canopies can be used in tailgate areas and behind a vehicle as long as they abide by the rules set
forth regarding the policy on Tents, Temporary Canopies, and other items, and are not within 20-feet of an open
flame, or blocking a driveway or fire lane.
Tents, canopies, popups, inflatables, and signs may also not be affixed to any tree or fence line.
CFC 3103.8 [CCR, Title 19, Division 1, & 312] states that vehicles necessary to the operation of the establishment
shall be parked at least 20 feet from large tents at all times.
Open flame or other devices (candles, torches, and the like) emitting flame, fire or heat, lanterns or any
flammable or combustible liquid, gas, or other cooking device, shall NOT BE PERMITTED inside or located within
20 feet of a tent.
ALL Generators (regardless of size) and other internal combustion power sources shall be separated from tents
by a minimum of 20 feet and shall be isolated from contact with the public by fencing, enclosure, or other
approved means. All tripping hazards shall be secured for the safety of everyone.
Violation of these requirements will be subject to fee penalty or revocation of parking privileges for future
games.
Smoking/Tobacco Policy
All campuses of the California State University System are required to be smoke and tobacco free. “Smoke Free” means
the use of cigarettes, pipes, cigars, and other “smoke” emanating products including e-cigarettes, vapor devices, and all
other like products. “Tobacco free” means all tobacco products including smokeless tobacco and snuff. None of these
above listed products are permitted on campus grounds including athletic facilities, practice fields, and parking lots
