Create an FSA ID. The financial aid
process begins with the student and at
least one parent obtaining his/her own FSA
ID. The FSA ID allows both the parent and
student to electronically sign the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA).
o To create an FSA ID, go to
https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/sign-
in/landing
o Note: The student and parents may
NOT use the same email address.
Complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA online at
http://fafsa.ed.gov.
o Available December 2023
o OSU priority deadline has been
extended to March 15, 2024
o You will use 2022 income information
o For School Selection, use The Ohio
State University-all campuses

o Note: Answer “YES” to the question,
“Are you interested in being considered
for work-study?”
Check your FAFSA status online at
http://fafsa.ed.gov
o Check 3-5 days after you file
Review your OSU financial aid award by
logging into Your Buckeye Link at
https://buckeyelink.osu.edu/. Awarding
typically occurs early-spring.
o Note: The university will communicate
via OSU webmail when your award
posts as well as any verification items
that need to be completed prior to
awarding. Complete any financial aid
checklists items required. Pay
attention to deadlines.
Complete and submit the Ohio State
ATI/CFAES Scholarship Application.
o Online application available October
2023 at:
http://ati.osu.edu/scholarship-
application
o Priority deadline February 15, 2024
o Note: You must enter your OSU ID#
and lastname.# to complete the
application.
o If awarded, you will be notified via letter
in the mail with instructions on
o accepting your scholarship award.
Complete and submit The Ohio State
University ScholarshipUniverse
Application.
o Online application available at
go.osu.edu/ssa
o Priority deadline has been
extended to March 15, 2024 for
internal; external scholarships
available year-round
o Note: Log in with your lastname.#
(assigned through admissions). To
activate your lastname.#, go to
https://my.osu.edu.
Investigate private sources of financial
aid for college, such as external
scholarships. Check with your school
counselor, local library, local businesses,
county community foundation, and your
parent(s) employers.
Note: You must re-apply for financial aid and
scholarships each and every academic
year. The 2025-2026 FAFSA will be
available October 1, 2024.
