Family Law Ask an Attorney Clinic

This clinic is for anyone who wants to ask an attorney questions regarding family law cases. This includes
divorce, Allocation of Parental Responsibilities (or APRformerly known as custody), contempt filings,
modification of prior orders, etc. (both Pre and Post Decree cases)
o Third Tuesday of each month, 9:00am 11:00am (excluding holidays)
o No reservation required, all forms should be obtained online prior to arrival, arrive early!
o Located in suite 2040, on the 2nd floor to the right of the elevators
o These appointments are given on a first come, first served basis. This clinic has one attorney that helps
attendees one at a time. Attendees will sign up when they arrive and will have up to 15 minutes to
speak with the attorney individually. Come prepared!

This organization provides help for low-income individuals wanting information such as self-help legal information;

o Civil legal matters only no criminal offenses or traffic issues. Specialties include: custody and protection orders
and divorce.
o You will need to leave a message, and a clinician will return your call to conduct a phone assessment. You can
also apply for assistance online and have a clinician contact you. If you are unable to accept phone calls, you may
be asked to come into the office between 8:30 and 11am on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday for walk-ins.

The Family Tree Legal Advocacy Program offers a free legal clinic for survivors of domestic violence, stalking and
sexual assault where you can get legal information and guidance from an attorney regarding most family law
issues.
Services include:
o Advice, information, and assistance with family law cases including, but not limited to, dissolution of
marriage, legal separation, common law marriage, allocation of parental responsibility, and protection
orders
o Necessary paperwork is available for participants
o Crisis intervention, advocacy, and support from a Family Tree legal advocate
o Information and referrals to legal, community, and emergency resources
Clinics are available twice a month in English and once a month in Spanish. Call to register and get specific
information about dates, times, and locations of clinics.
